The Blues head coach Enzo Maresca confirmed on Friday that Cole Palmer is ready to play for the squad's important Premier League match against local rivals Arsenal.

The 23-year-old English midfielder was unavailable due to a fractured toe suffered after an unfortunate occurrence.

“He is fit to begin and feature,” Maresca said. “Everyone is happy.”

In the current campaign, Palmer has made only four appearances in all tournaments, netting two goals.

Following his transfer from Manchester City in 2023, he has recorded 45 strikes and 29 setups in 101 games for Chelsea.

“He is our best player, we are pleased he is back, we need to allow him time to be fully fit,” Maresca continued. “He has been brilliant historically and no doubt he is going to do great things for this club in the future.”

Everton have failed in their appeal against Idrissa Gueye's red card for an on-field altercation with fellow player Michael Keane during the squad's narrow win at Old Trafford.

The veteran Senegal midfielder was dismissed just 13 minutes into the game after slapping Keane during a dispute over a poor pass.

Gueye promptly expressed regret, and the pair were seen reconciled afterwards in a mock social media video.

“We have appealed it and our appeal was turned down,” manager David Moyes stated. “We haven’t been given any reason why it was turned down but we did appeal it.”

When asked about any further fallout from the incident, Moyes remarked: “The matter was resolved instantly, it was done, that was it, we moved on quite quickly and it was all sorted within the dressing room.”

3. Yoane Wissa Trains with Newcastle for Initial Session since Setback

The club's recent acquisition Yoane Wissa has practiced with his new teammates for the initial occasion since suffering a knee problem soon after his move from Brentford in September.

The club's manager Sean Dyche is hopeful that Morgan Gibbs-White will be available for the team's at home match against Brighton on the weekend.

The England player was absent for Thursday's Europa League game against Malmö due to a back injury.

“We hope it is improving,” Dyche commented as he prepared to face Fabian Hürzeler's team, who have taken a decent haul from their past three matches.

“It’s like a bad back, but a morning sort of injury, one where you just sleep funny or twist funny. So we’re not anticipating, at this point anyway, that it’s very severe and it’s settling down already. So we’re confident that it’ll be okay for the weekend.”

Murillo was feeling his hamstring muscle after the 3-0 European victory, but Dyche indicated the player “is expected to be okay”.

However, the full-back (thigh injury), the midfielder (thigh), the winger (hamstring), Chris Wood (knee), and Oleksandr Zinchenko (hip) are expected to miss out.

Sixth Story: Glasner: European Loss Won't Hinder Palace

The Eagles manager Oliver Glasner feels that the disappointment of Thursday's European defeat to the French side is a sign of how far the club has advanced in challenging on multiple fronts.
