Former Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients

Prosecutors have stated that a former doctor now faces charges for committing assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.

The Grave Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.

A senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Investigation

These allegations come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

List of Charges

The charging documents outline the forty-five sexual offences comprise:

  • 15 counts of sexual assault.
  • 17 counts of penetrative assault.
  • Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • One count of attempted penetrative assault.

Authorities are urging anyone with concerns to contact the investigating team.
